Hi Beverly, I just finished reading The Longing yesterday ... another beautiful story! I've now read all your adult writings and cannot chose a favorite. As a 54 yr. old lady of German heritage myself, many of the foods mentioned are very familiar and so delicious! Many of our neighbors are conservative mennonites, the closest in proximity being good friends of ours. While I'm driving our area, I take much enjoyment in seeing the absolutely gorgeous homes of the local Amish. What I'm saying in short is that I "rub shoulders" with the Amish fairly often, and your books have given me much insight into their lifestyle. Your books also help me see that our Grand Creator made us humans "not so different from each other after all". Thank you, Beverly, for taking me along with you on your "journeys into the Amish world" with each book. The trip is always "Wonderful Gut"!

I've been reading your books for about 10 years now. Your pre-teen stories have helped me through so many life decisions and trials. Throughout your books your characters have been brought to life by your great talent for writing what is truly real. Somehow you have drawn out from your own life the vulnerability of one's heart and mind. You have been able to describe and characterize our day to day musings and wonderings, encorporating them into the very hearts and lives of the community. Breathing reality of life's pain into the VERY pages of the people you so dedicatedly created! Thank you for your hard work and your obedience to the inspiration the Lord gives you.

A friend of mine shared Abram's Daughters and The Heritage of Lancaster County series with me and I could not put them down. These stories have taken me from a very busy and stress filled life to reflecting the goodness of God ... "that all things work together for our good" ... not that all things are good. Thank you for using your God given talent in writing these novels. They have inspired me and uplifted me more than I can tell you. God bless you my sister in Christ. I can't wait to begin another book!

Thank you for the beautifully written novels. I've considered some very spiritual and I looked forward to reading the sequels. I just finished The Postcard and The Crossroad. So well done. For my 50th anniversary in religious life, my Congregation is allowing me to visit the Amish in PA. I had hoped to go this summer, but there were no organized tours when I inquired. I plan on going next spring. I would like to spend a night at one of the B&Bs. I don't know if that will happen. Thank you again for sharing your gift of writing especially the insights given about the Amish people. God bless, Sister Irene.

I just finished your book The Longing. It was wonderful how in your writing you showed how witnessing can eventually bring someone into the Fold. Everything fell into place as everyone realized that they needed Christ. I cried because it took David dying for him to realize this and took his death for his family to accept Christ in their lives. I myself am a fairly new Christain. I think I've known all my life that "Someone" was there guiding me and watching over me but it wasn't until about 3 years ago I asked Christ to enter my heart. I didn't have a feeling of "joy" that some profess they have or a big turn around in my life. I've always been a giving and compassionate person. When I read a story like The Longing and your characters accept Christ, I cry. This is when I know I also am a believer and I then feel the "joy". I don't know why but of all the books I've read of yours (and I have them all) this one touched me the most. Thank you.

Thank you, sweet Beverly, for sharing your wonderful talent with us! I have retired from teaching and have been traveling for 3 hrs. each week to care for our new grandson—now 5 months old. In order to endure the trip I discovered your books on CD at our public library. You have made my trip so delightful with your stories—I have fallen in love with your characters and the Amish life. I do live in Amish country, and found it enlightening to hear you mention Shipshewanna and Nappanee, IN on one of your books. I especially am fond of the way you have instilled the Word in your stories—how refreshing! After I listen to your stories, I feel so uplifted that I could just give you a hug! This site is new to me, but I'll be looking for your new titles and hopefully, the date's that you'll be traveling & visiting northern Indiana. God bless you!

Hello Beverly, I am a 53 year old man, husband, dad and grandfather and an Elder at our non-denominational bible church. I truly love your books. After reading The Covenant, I waited until the series was over, then bought all the books and devoured them. That was my second series to date. Great stories and message. May God bless you. David

I have just finished reading The Longing. Eventhough I have read all of your other books, this series has moved me to write to you about the peace I feel. In these turbulent times, fear had caught my heart disturbing my sleep. I was diagnosed with diabetes in August, 2007 and then with breast cancer in December, 2007. I went through chemo and radiation with little discomfort. It was something I had to do and with plenty of prayer from friends and family, I am now pretty much cancer free. I will know for sure in Feb, 2009 when I get the final cat-scan. Throughout my procedures, I kept my Beverly Lewis books close at hand. They served as a reminder of God's presence in my life.
I will admit that I have never been much of a church goer but am a Christian with a deep love of the Lord. I have given up any anxiety and fear of the future both economically and physically and have chosen to trust that God will lead me to where He needs me to be. I have replaced the negative in my life with prayer and faith. Thank you for reminding me of God's power. I can hardly wait for the next series.
