Warmest greetings from my house...to yours! Has beautiful springtime arrived in your neck of the woods? The signs are everywhere here, near the majestic Rocky Mountains. I've seen several new little bunnies and baby deer, too, all scampering about near my home office windows-so fun to watch! Tulips, crocuses, and flowering trees are blossoming, as well.
The recent Spring 2014 Book Tour for The Last Bride helped me start my spring off just right and was truly splendid. I met many gracious southerners—in fact, I told my husband that everyone in Texas and Louisiana is ultra-friendly!
Here are some of the most wonderful highlights of this book tour: a middle-school student received Christ as Savior following my after-school talk; I met face-to-face at last with many of my loyal Facebook reader-friends and enjoyed numerous birthday celebrations with fans; I was encouraged by so many who shared how my books have helped them through the rigors of chemo, the loss of a spouse or child, and through separation or divorce, or a sudden serious medical diagnosis. I also met book club members—enthusiasm exudes!—and talked with many booksellers who were inspired by my visit to their "small town." It was a joy to meet my recently deceased Daddy's first cousin Carl Nehrbass along the way. At the Longview Public Library event, I met longtime friend Victor Barnes and his church acquaintances. Little children stood in line there to get autographs for my Cul-de-Sac Kids chapter books and What Is God Like? picture book, and teens brought copies of the Girls Only and Holly's Heart series they so enjoy.
It was especially heartwarming to share my writing passion and my testimony at the various library presentations, where I met lovely journalists and photographers who are also believers. So thankful for their openness about their life journey with Christ!
Also, I extend my enormous thanks to my tour manager of seventeen years (I've traveled nearly twice around the circumference of the earth while touring and meeting readers!) and my publicity team, who accompany me and make things appear rather effortless.
When I arrived home, it was time to joyfully celebrate Easter with my family, and I've begun outlining my Spring 2015 novel, too. The title and book cover will be unveiled soon!
A very happy springtime and summer to all of you!
