April 2012

Dear Reader-Friend,

Happy springtime! In Lancaster County Amish country, farmers have already plowed their fields and seeded clover and alfalfa. The annual spring airing of quilts and blankets is finished, and houses have been cleaned from top to bottom, ready for the warm, sunny days and mild evenings soon to come. This year spring has arrived early, just as it has in many locales around the country.

And with spring comes the release of my newest novelThe Fiddler—available on Tuesday, April 10 in bookstores and online. The theme of this special story has been close to my heart for several decades...and I promise you'll love it!

My Spring 2012 Book Tour will take me to beautiful Minnesota, Wisconsin, and North Dakota this April 10-21. I'm looking forward to meeting many of you in bookstores and libraries along the way. Please check the complete tour schedule for details on where and when. I'll be signing The Fiddler, as well as Amish Prayers (a one-of-a-kind must-have), and the new 3-in-1 collection of THE COURTSHIP OF NELLIE FISHER.

On another exciting note, the popular musical play, "The Confession," will soon be opening in three locations, all of them in Amish communities. I hope there is one within driving distance of you and your family, because I cannot recommend this delightful musical enough. It's a joy to see my spunky Katie Lapp from The Shunning brought to life in this way, and the stage adaptation is perfect for all ages. And, wow, is the music ever fabulous! "Broadway worthy," according to Gloria Gaither, who has seen it twice already. The three locations are:

* The Blue Gate Theatre in Shipshewana, Indiana. Opens "The Confession" musical for its third season on April 24 through August 18.

* The Bird-in-Hand Family Restaurant and Stage in Bird-in-Hand, Pennsylvania. Opens its second season on April 4, running through November 30.

* The Carlisle Inn in Sugarcreek, Ohio. Show debuts June 7 and runs through December 15.

For reservations:

So, what's next? you might be wondering. I'm happy to say that I'm wrapping up revisions on The Bridesmaid, the second stand-alone in my HOME TO HICKORY HOLLOW series. Many of you will recognize this return to the beloved fictional setting of my first novels for adults. The story of that series, THE HERITAGE OF LANCASTER COUNTY, is currently being made into a movie for the Hallmark Channel—Beverly Lewis' The Confession. (Air date to be announced soon on my Facebook fan page, as well as on the official Beverly Lewis website.)

Until next time, I wish you and your family an inspiring and most blessed Easter!
